The Department of Neurological Sciences (DONS) at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) seeks an Academic Epileptologist (MD or MD/PhD). The candidate must be BC/BE and have 1-2 years of accredited fellowship training in adult or pediatric epilepsy. The UNMC Comprehensive Epilepsy Program is a Level 4 regional epilepsy center (National Association of Epilepsy Centers guidelines) with a 6 private bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, treating adults and children. The Program has an active surgical arm, averaging 30-40 epilepsy surgeries, 50-75 VNS implantations yearly, a thriving RNS (Responsive Neurostimulation) program, and Magnetoencephalography (MEG) center. Call is shared between epileptologists and advanced practice providers support inpatient and outpatient care. Teaching opportunities include rotating Neurology Residents with plans to develop an Epilepsy Fellowship. Academic rank is commensurate with qualifications.
