UTHealth McGovern Medical School Houston has two positions available for the ACGME Epilepsy Fellowship beginning July 1st, 2018. The fellowship position is for one year and applicants must have completed a residency program in neurology, child neurology or general psychiatry accredited in the United States or Canada.
This fellowship is designed to train physicians in detailed assessment of patients from the diagnosis of epilepsy with exposure to the FIRST SEIZURE CLINIC to general medical management, pre and post-surgical management and treatment of epilepsy. There is special emphasis on medication selection, and surgical treatment of epilepsy. Rotations include Electroencephalography (EEG), inpatient Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, and electives. Fellows also have the opportunity to go electives in Magnetoencephalography (MEG) or sleep medicine. A year-long didactic curriculum is taught by experts in the field of epilepsy including exposure to epilepsy genetics and imaging.

-spectacular surgical epilepsy program with high volumes of intra-cranial EEG cases including robotic SEEG and MR guided laser interstitial thermal therapy
-exposure to MEG in its use for epilepsy
-collegial atmosphere with minimal call responsibilities
-great mentorship with frequent and close interactions with the attending staff.
Our fellowship has institutional GME approval and is ACGME accredited in Epilepsy
